Pics From The Weekend!

MeandEva02

It's hard to be stressed at the beach, which is why it is one of my go to places with the kids on weekends. This past weekend, we also took the kids to Agawam Park, a great place for families and kids. The park has lots of fun stuff for little ones and a huge lawn for older kids who might want to kick a ball around. Most importantly, though, the park is clean with no riffraff! It also has a beautiful lake as its backdrop with ducks and geese that walk right up to you! … [Read more...]

Reading Rainbow Is Back!

readingrainbow

Reading Rainbow, the beloved television show for children is back as an App for the iPad. Now young readers between the ages of 3 and 9 can enjoy Reading Rainbow as I did many years ago (well, not too many years ago). I saw LeVar who still looks good after all these years and met a lot of great people who are truly passionate about children’s literacy. I also had a chance to check out the app for myself. It was easy to use and easy on the … [Read more...]

The Hamptons is known for its beaches, but it is also known for its farming communities and farm fresh fruit stands. So for Father’s Day, we went strawberry picking in the Hamptons! (My husband’s idea). We had a great time and if you have city kids like I do, sometimes it’s nice to let them enjoy the great outdoors. … [Read more...]

Our Sunday Afternoon At The Beach!

MeCoopersBeach

Sunday was a great day for the beach and we did just that. We took the kids to Coopers Beach in Southampton, NY because it is one of the more family friendly beaches in the area. It has a lifeguard, with decent bathrooms and a concessions stand. It also has a Mobi-Mat for strollers and wheelchairs. Going to the beach that day was exhilarating. It was a spontaneous act (which doesn’t happen very often) and something we did together as a family. Not to mention the fact that the kids had a blast. Eva was super social, Samuel couldn’t get enough of the water and David loved playing in the sand. … [Read more...]

Our Issues With Weight

Snack time

With all the talk about childhood obesity you would never know that there are parents out there who actually need to put weight on their kids and I am one of them. This past winter my kids stopped gaining weight and started losing weight. They had one stomach virus after another. In fact they lost so much weight that they started wearing clothes that they had previously outgrown. These were some of the worst weeks of my life. Had it not been for the fact that they were developmentally on target in every other area, I would have been lying in a ditch somewhere. It also didn’t help that … [Read more...]
