Years ago it was acceptable for fathers to play a less than active role in the lives of their children. Today society has changed. We now expect fathers to be different. We expect them to be involved with their kids and to make family a priority. There is also growing research, which shows that when fathers are involved with their children, their children are more likely to succeed in school and have higher self-esteem.
This Saturday, Toy State, the makers of toy vehicles including CAT and Cat Preschool, will host its first annual Dads@Play event to encourage more dads to make playtime with their kids a priority.
At the event there will be car races, a sports-based carnival, face painting, art projects and a silent auction with proceeds benefiting STRIVE International’s “Stronger Fathers, Stronger Families” initiative. So if you are a dad, please do not miss out on this fun and important event. If you are not a dad, but know one, please pass along the information. ☺
