BabyGanics, a product line currently being marketed to consumers, as safe and non-toxic may not be the product it claims to be. According to the Environmental Working Group, a research and advocacy group, BabyGanics’ product line contains formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. According to a recent article published by the group, BabyGanics revealed this information after receiving some pressure to fully disclose its ingredients.
This article which was published last week is unfortunately no longer on the group’s website. Consumers interested in this subject, though, can still find another article dated September 10, 2012, showing the group’s concerns that BabyGanics had not disclosed all of its ingredients: http://www.ewg.org/release/ewg-s-online-guide-healthy-cleaning. You can also refer to group’s 2012 guide to safe cleaning to check the safety of the products you are currently using in your home: http://www.ewg.org/guides/cleaners.
